I just caught one of these little guys swimming in my pool. I scooped him/her up and let it free in the back yard. Thanks for the info on this type of snake. GOD BLESS.

Thanks for your site! It’s the only one that showed excellent photos of the bellies of ring-necked snakes. I have a question for you though… The snakes on our property are identical to the top photo on this page with the gorgeous graduating tequila sunrise colors in the belly, but with one exception. The ring on the neck matches the red color found under their tails. Each website I’ve visited includes a description of the ring as yellow or orange. Have you heard of a red ring before?

You are so right Marti. And, I do have some of those more “universally appealing” creatures on film that I can share.
But for guys, and especially Kelly this grabs their fancy. Kelly is using the this photo of the ringnecks as wallpaper on his laptop.
